Mayor Mike Allen serves the citizens of Belville not only as Mayor, but as a captain with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, where he has been a law enforcement officer for more than 30 years. Originally from Lumberton, Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and graduated from the United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy. He retired from the Army as a Command Sergeant Major after a military career that saw him operate as a drill instructor and as a logistics manager during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is also retired from AT&T.
Mike first served on the Board as a Commissioner in 2009 before becoming Mayor in 2012. He also acts as the town’s representative on the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (WMPO) Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). Mike has been married to his wife Barbara for 46 years and has two sons and two grandsons.

Charles Bost has 30 years of diverse experience in the military, law enforcement and collegiate instruction. He has served as police officer, detective and administrator in the United States Air Force, Wilmington Police Department, Leland Police Department and UNCW Campus Police. He has been an adjunct and law enforcement instructor for over 20 years, teaching at Cape Fear Community College and various other colleges and venues. Mr. Bost was first appointed to Belville’s Board of Commissioners in February of 2010. He was elected in 2011 and served until 2014. During this period of time he served as the town’s Mayor Pro Tem. He returned to serve on the Board again in 2019, was appointed as the town’s Mayor Pro Tem. Mr Bost is also currently a member of the Wilmington Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Advisory Committee.

Morgan is a North Carolina licensed attorney and has worked at Velocity Solutions in Wilmington in a sales and relationship role since 2013. He is responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with financial institutions throughout the country.
Prior to joining Velocity Solutions, Morgan practiced law in eastern North Carolina since 2006. In his law practice he represented clients in legal matters across the board, from criminal, civil, corporate, family and estate law to personal injury and medical malpractice.
Morgan received his Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law and he attended the University of North Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Erica and their two children. The balance of Morgan’s time is spent either road racing and auto-crossing with the Sports Car Club of America, or with his head under the hood of a car.
Morgan was appointed in 2018 to serve as a Commissioner for the Town of Belville and was elected in 2019 to serve a four-year term.

Commissioner Merrill has lived in the town of Belville for over 20 years. He has served the citizens of North Carolina in the field of emergency services since 1992. This has been with Fire, Rescue, and EMS agencies at the local, county, and state level, as well as working with the North Carolina Community College System. He served on the Town of Belville Alcoholic Beverage Control Board from September 2017 until December 2019. In December 2019 he was appointed to fill an unexpired two-year term for a Commissioner position. In November of 2021 he was elected to a four-year term as a Commissioner. As part of his duties, Commissioner Merrill serves as the Town of Belville’s representative on the Cape Fear Council of Governments.

Since 2011, Hunter has spent this professional career in the field of Human Resources supporting various companies with employee populations ranging from 250 to 5,000 respectively. Currently, Hunter holds the role as Human Resources Manager for a leading building materials producer servicing Eastern NC and the SC Grand Strand.
Hunter attended East Carolina University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution and Logistics with a minor in Business Administration.
Originally from Fayetteville NC, Hunter, wife Candace, along with their two children, have called the Town of Belville home since 2021. The Smith’s enjoy being active within their neighborhood as well as boating and fishing on the weekends with family and friends. They also enjoy spending time at the Town’s Riverwalk Park and playground where they regularly attend community events.
Hunter was appointed to Belville Town Commissioner in January of 2024 to fill an unexpired four-year term.

Belville is ideally located in the fastest growing county in the State of North Carolina and one of the fastest growing regions in the nation. We sit just across the river from Downtown Wilmington and are just a short drive away from Brunswick County’s beautiful beaches, as well as Bald Head Island.
As our community responsibly grows in the coming years, Belville’s goal is to remain a welcoming and enjoyable place to live, work, raise a family, and build a business by maintaining a focus on recreation, the environment, and history. This goal enhances the region’s economic development to improve the quality of life of our residents for generations to come.
Belville is the home of the Belville Riverwalk. This park provides an opportunity to separate yourself from the hustle-bustle of everyday life and connect with nature. You can access the natural beauty of the Brunswick River through the park, and find a variety of wildlife, birds, and trees. There is a public boat ramp, kayak launch and fishing pier as well as picnic facilities, walking trails, a music pavilion and playgrounds.
The Town hosts many events at the Belville Riverwalk such as: Founder’s Day, Youth Fishing Day, the Fall Festival, Movie Nights, Concerts and the Belville Holiday Lights by the River.
The Riverwalk’s Duke Energy Education Pavilion accommodates the NC K-12 Science Core Curricula through live interaction with the environment. Classes held within the Pavilion can be broadcast live via WiFi and Skype enabling live interaction by all of Brunswick County’s students.
On Veterans Day 2019, Belville commemorated the extraordinary lives of those in service to the nation by unveiling the Veterans Memorial at the Belville Riverwalk. The Memorial honors the men and women who served our country through a beautiful monument and commemorative bricks.
